"Who Else Wants FREE Step-By-Step Fireplace Designs That Show You How To Build A Better Fireplace?"

From The Desk Of: Tim Knotts

Fellow Renovator,

I set this website up because I love all aspects of design, particularly fireplace design. However, I hate the exclusive, snobby attitude that some designers have. Everyone should be able to enjoy beauty and good design. That’s why I want to share my fireplace design knowledge with as many people as possible.

Since you’ve found this website I’m assuming you love beautiful fireplace designs as much as I do. The truth is, I’m always on the internet looking for fireplace ideas and building tips. While doing some research, I stumbled upon a fantastic manuscript by The Majestic Company.

They are one of the most well known and respected fireplace builders of the last century and continue to be a leader in the industry today.

I noticed that most of their work was available online with the exception of one of the most important pieces of work, How To Plan And Build A Better Fireplace’.  Even though it was first published in 1958, this book has the best fireplace design and building information I have ever seen.

In the 23 chapters here’s just a snippet of what you’ll learn:

  • Why you need to plan for appearance
  • The decision making process—traditional or modern
  • How to gain the best heat source possible.
  • Recognise design faults that lead to a non-efficient fireplace
  • Learn how a smoke chamber, flue, smoke shelf, damper and hearth should work
  • The answers to common questions
  • Tips on construction and how to achieve efficient burning

If this is the kind of information that you have been looking for, here’s the good news…

I have contacted the original copyright owners and gained permission to republish The Majestic Company’s complete work on this website. Although I had to pay to have the manuscript reformatted and published online, fireplace design is my passion. Therefore, I want to share this book with as many people as possible for free.

The information is second to none and you’ll soon have a beautiful and efficient fireplace that will be the envy of your house guests.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Cheers and Happy Roasting

Tim Knotts

How Air Conditioners Work
Many people use air conditioners whether at home or in their offices. But most people do not know how air conditioners work. The air conditioners are basically similar to a refrigerator. The main difference is the fact that refrigerator is used for cooling only a small area while an air conditioner is used for cooling a larger area.

Small Portable Air Conditioners Are Excellent For Apartments
There are obvious advantages to small portable air conditioners over the large central units and the large portable units. If you have a small home or apartment then the small unit is much more practical.

How to Heat the Garage
If you use your garage for woodworking or crafts then you need it warm in the winter. Your garage is more than a place to store infomercial products you buy.

What is a Ground Source Heat Pump?
What is a ground source heat pump? Many people are using heat pumps these days to heat and cool their homes. However, there are still a lot of people that do not know what these devices actually do. What we hope to do is educate people on the functionality of these machines.

Get Your Heating Bill Down
Here's the long version. In the past, burning wood was commonplace, and no one seemed to mind that smoke was circulated into the air. Now there are clean air laws to obey, and manufacturers of wood stoves, fireplaces, and chimneys had to do their homework on pollution.
